[Friends...a few further thoughts about my last post...]
If we only knew how good a life of serving God tasted, we would stop fighting so hard to stay safe.
If we knew about the peace and about the joy. If we knew about the security and fulfillment of the intagible kind…the thrill like in the best roller coaster you’ve ever ridden kind of way, but better.
The truth is…people who live all out for God were not made more special. They just tasted something good and kept going back for it.
And when my friend, the one I wrote about in my last post, tells me through choked tears about how when she bathes foster children who are not her own but come to her, filthy, she feels God so close as if He is bathing them with her…
I believe her. Because that is how it works with God.
And I don’t want to make this a super long post and beg you to trust me about how big God wants to be in our life if we will only let go and let Him.
I just want to say, today, that if we only knew how good a life of sacrifice and trust and risk and passion and love could be,
We would run toward it instead of constantly running away.
“God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.” [Ephesians 3:20 MSG]
