FAQs
-
Yes and yes. :) I absolutely go first and share my own body struggles, but Body & Soul is rooted in so much more. It is grounded in Scripture, as biblical truth informs our understanding of our bodies, health, and physical well-being as part of God's design. We don’t need more experts weighing in on our bodies, me included. A subject this important cannot be addressed by opinion and personal experience alone, which is why I wanted to dig deep into what Scripture had to say about it!
-
Through each of the six sessions, I directly address these issues and more by examining what Scripture teaches about our design, function and purpose and how that correlates to Christ’s embodied actions, which completely changes how we see ourselves.
-
Biblical truth informs us in every way, including how we live our physical and mental health life. This study isn’t meant to overwhelm us with more tips and tricks, like the ones that make up our media feeds. Body & Soul focuses on biblical principles and theology, while giving us clear directives about decision making in every area of our embodied life.
-
Without a doubt. The study guides participants to see our bodies as part of God's good creation, emphasizing dignity, stewardship, and identity – all rooted in Scripture and life-altering.
-
Unlike a traditional trade book, this Bible Study is meant to be something you will actively engage with. Each session includes thoughtful questions, discussion prompts, and practical exercises – each designed to help apply biblical truths to everyday life.
-
Body & Soul is suitable for women of all ages, from teens to older women, encouraging age-appropriate understanding and application. Every generation has something to gain from this study in a profound way, and ages studying together to glean different perspectives would be a powerful way to interact with the material (as well as peer group study).
-
Each session is designed to be manageable—typically 30-45 minutes—making it accessible for busy schedules, whether for individual study or group settings.
-
Body & Soul critically examines cultural messages and offers a biblical lens to view beauty, health, and self-care as part of God's plan.
-
It works well for both individual reflection and small group settings, encouraging community and personal growth.
